Celaya: Man killed during suspected electrical cable theft
A man, identified unofficially as Flavio “N”, was shot and killed during the early hours of Saturday in the Rancho Seco neighborhood of Celaya. The incident occurred near a local temple at the intersection of Morelos Street and Lázaro Cárdenas Avenue.
Preliminary investigations suggest the victim and two others were attempting to illegally extract electrical wiring from a public utility register when they were confronted by two individuals on motorcycles. While two of the individuals managed to flee, the attackers reportedly forced the victim to walk toward Morelos Street before shooting him in the head at close range.
Municipal police arrived at the scene around 1:00 a.m. to find abandoned bicycles, personal belongings, and a manipulated electrical register with exposed wiring. Forensic experts from the State Attorney General's Office processed the scene to collect ballistic evidence, and authorities have launched an investigation to locate the suspects.
