Celebrities Expand Into Hotel Business

A number of international and German celebrities have launched or acquired hotels. Hollywood veteran Robert De Niro owns The Greenwich Hotel in New York, while Clint Eastwood runs the Mission Ranch in California. Swedish musician Benny Andersson operates the Rival hotel in Stockholm. German actor Til Schweiger opened his first Barefoot hotel on the Timmendorfer Strand in 2017 and, after the original licence ended, opened a second Barefoot hotel in Puerto Colom, Mallorca in 2022. The Barefoot brand markets itself as a haven for free‑spirited guests, offering rooms with balconies, terraces, jacuzzis, two restaurants, an outdoor pool and a wellness area.
