Celebrities face backlash over remarks regarding Halloween

Influencer India Love and Malaysian actress Zahirah MacWilson have both faced public criticism following comments regarding the celebration of Halloween.

During a livestream, India Love declined to participate in a Halloween cosplay challenge, stating that her family considers the holiday “the devil’s holiday.” She noted that she respects her mother’s teachings on the matter. Her comments led to online debate, with some social media users questioning the consistency of her religious views in relation to her former career on OnlyFans.

In Malaysia, actress Zahirah MacWilson drew criticism after describing Halloween, Christmas, and Easter as “ridiculous” and “weird” on Instagram. She questioned the practices associated with these holidays, including children dressing up and the depiction of supernatural or demonic characters. MacWilson subsequently issued an apology, stating she never intended to offend anyone and is currently in the process of learning more about different religions and beliefs.
