Celina Leão leads Federal District gubernatorial race in latest polls

Celina Leão, the current Governor of the Federal District and candidate for reelection, is leading the race for the governorship according to a Genial/Quaest poll. In a stimulated first-round scenario, Leão holds 34% of the voting intentions, followed by José Roberto Arruda with 20% and Leandro Grass with 11% or 13% depending on the specific survey metric. The poll also highlights significant voter indecision, with 14% of respondents undecided in the stimulated scenario and 63% undecided in the spontaneous scenario.

As part of her campaign, Leão has proposed the construction of Metro-DF Line 2, an estimated R$ 13 billion project that would serve regions such as Gama, Santa Maria, and Recanto das Emas. She also noted the ongoing process to acquire 15 new trains to expand the current fleet.

In the education sector, the Governor announced the appointment of approximately 2,681 permanent teachers for early childhood education to replace temporary contracts, a move intended to ensure service continuity without increasing public expenditure.
