Celina Leão leads polls in Distrito Federal runoff election
Incumbent Governor Celina Leão (PP) holds a significant lead in recent polls for the Distrito Federal runoff election, scheduled for October 25. Various surveys, including RealTime Big Data and Quaest, indicate Leão is ahead of challenger Leandro Grass (PT).
In the RealTime Big Data poll, Leão holds 53% of the total voting intentions compared to 37% for Grass, with 59% of valid votes. The Quaest survey shows Leão at 50% and Grass at 35%. Most voters, approximately 93%, report that their decision is already finalized.
As part of her campaign, Leão has proposed expanding full-time education starting in Núcleo Bandeirante, implementing gradual free public transportation through the 'Vai de Graça Todo Dia' program, and strengthening female entrepreneurship. She is also actively lobbying in Congress to protect the Distrito Federal Constitutional Fund (FCDF) from potential legislative changes that could impact regional budget planning by an estimated R$ 1.8 billion.
