Celje hosts national slalom canoeing championship

In Celje, Slovenia, the open national slalom canoeing championship for members and youth concluded at Špica. Jan Ločnikar claimed the absolute national title among kayakers with a time of 40.10 seconds, narrowly defeating Petr Kauzer.

Local club KKK Nivo Celje secured its sixth consecutive national title in the team competition, with Jan Ločnikar, Lan Tominc, and Martin Srabotnik representing the winning squad. In the youth categories, Nino Pfeifer won the U18 title, while the Celje youth team earned a bronze medal.

In the women's competition, Ria Šribar achieved the fastest time, though she competes for the USA; Eva Alina Hočevar took second place to become the national champion. The event also featured prominent Slovenian canoeists, including Olympic champion Benjamin Savšek and Luka Božič.
