Celle and Cologne launch aggressive graffiti removal campaigns

In Celle, the cleaning firm Ice‑Tec‑Celle removed a graffiti tag from a kindergarten wall, only to see the wall re‑sprayed three days later. Company co‑founders Florian Radtke and Andreas Bruns describe a continual "cat‑and‑mouse" struggle with spray‑artists, noting that the removal process is costly for the city and requires multiple chemical and abrasive techniques.

In Cologne, mayor Torsten Burmester and KVB finance director Alexandra Rohlmann took part in a two‑week citywide cleaning operation that concluded with a large‑scale cleanup at the Hansaring transit hub. The effort, coordinated with waste‑management services, the KVB and Deutsche Bahn, removed stickers, graffiti, food residue and other grime from platforms, elevators, glass panels and metal structures, and applied anti‑graffiti protection to the renovated surfaces.
