Cellino launches Reservoir immune cell preservation service
Biotech company Cellino has launched Reservoir, a new service designed to allow adults to preserve their immune cells for potential future medical use. The process involves a standard blood draw to isolate peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs), including T cells, B cells, natural killer cells, and monocytes.
The collected cells are cryopreserved and stored at temperatures below −150°C in an FDA-registered facility. The service is positioned as a longevity-focused tool, based on the premise that immune cell populations change as individuals age, making younger cells potentially more valuable for future cell-based therapies.
Reservoir is currently available through partner clinics in cities including San Francisco, Boston, Los Angeles, and New York City, with at-home appointment options rolling out in select markets. The service starts at approximately $5,000, with an annual storage fee of $270. While the company utilizes automated cell production technology, it specifies that Reservoir is a preservation service rather than a medical treatment and does not guarantee specific future clinical outcomes.
