Cellist Valentina Chávez Valenzuela Wins Iberorquestas Juveniles 2025 Award

Valentina Chávez Valenzuela, a student of Musical Interpretation specializing in cello at the University of Talca, was presented with the Jóvenes Intérpretes Iberorquestas Juveniles 2025 award, an international distinction that highlights outstanding young musicians from Ibero‑America. The ceremony was held in the Maule region, where Pablo Amaro, the regional minister for Culture, Arts and Heritage, delivered the official diploma.

The award is part of the Programa Iberorquestas Juveniles, coordinated in Chile by the Consejo de Fomento de la Música Nacional and supported by Spanish cultural institutions such as the Instituto Nacional de las Artes Escénicas y de la Música, the Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo, and the Secretaría General Iberoamericana. An international jury of three music specialists selected the laureates after reviewing submissions from member‑state representatives. Chávez praised the recognition as motivation to continue her musical career despite challenges.

The accolade underscores the growing artistic talent in the Maule region and aims to encourage further cultural development among young musicians in Chile and across Ibero‑America.
