Cellnex focuses on infrastructure resilience amid diverging market outlooks

Cellnex is focusing on infrastructure resilience to address challenges such as energy issues, extreme weather, and geopolitical conflicts. Óscar Pallarols, the company’s Segment Marketing and Alliances Director, highlighted the necessity of resilient connectivity following a major blackout in Spain in April 2025. To ensure availability, the company is deploying a ‘Battery as a Service’ model and utilizing advanced anti-corrosion materials and customized designs for specific sectors like rail.

Financially, the company faces diverging outlooks from major institutions. While Cellnex has seen its stock price decline by 16.8% in 2026—making it one of the worst performers on the IBEX 35 due to its sensitivity to interest rates—Deutsche Bank maintains a target price of 40 euros per share, suggesting an 80% upside from recent levels. Conversely, the hedge fund D. E. Shaw & Co has increased its short position against the company to 1.0% of its capital, its highest level in the company’s history.
