Celltrion expands European biosimilar market share through new tenders
Celltrion is expanding its presence in European markets beyond the EU5, securing significant government tenders for its new biosimilar product lines in Northern Europe and the Netherlands.
In Norway, the autoimmune disease treatment Aptozma (tocilizumab) has won a national tender, with the company projecting an average market share of 85% over the next two years. In Finland, Aptozma has reached a 42% share in the subcutaneous retail market as of June and recently secured intravenous infusion tenders in the eastern region. The Netherlands has also seen success, with Celltrion securing approximately 58% of the local tocilizumab market through various hospital procurement groups.
Other key products are also seeing rapid adoption. Omlyclo (omalizumab) secured sole supply rights in Denmark and is projected to maintain a market share of over 98% by the end of the year. Additionally, Osenvelt (denosumab) won sole tenders in both Norway and Denmark, with supplies commencing this month. Celltrion attributes this growth to its established direct sales networks and existing relationships with medical professionals built through its Remsima and Yuflyma product lines.
