Celltrion pushes obesity drug CT‑G32 and ADC cancer pipeline forward

South Korean biotech firm Celltrion announced that its four‑target obesity drug candidate CT‑G32 will have preclinical results presented at an academic conference in November, with GLP toxicology studies in rodents and monkeys concluding this year. The company aims to submit an IND by February and begin first‑patient dosing in the second quarter of 2025.

Celltrion also confirmed that four antibody‑drug conjugate (ADC) cancer candidates—CT‑P70, CT‑P71, CT‑P73 and the multi‑specific antibody CT‑P72—are in Phase 1 trials and have begun patient dosing. Early clinical data for two ADCs are expected in early 2025, with CT‑P70 slated to enter a dose‑optimization part 2 in March. CT‑P70 and CT‑P71 have received FDA Fast Track designations, and two additional candidates will seek the status later this year.

Overall, Celltrion is developing about 25 novel drug candidates and plans to triple its clinical pipeline by 2028. It invested roughly 4.8 trillion won in R&D last year, reinvesting bio‑similar revenues into the new‑drug program and pursuing collaborations in AI, microbiome and antibody technologies.
