Celltrion targets Japanese allergy market with Omlyclo biosimilar

Celltrion is preparing to enter the Japanese allergy treatment market with its omalizumab biosimilar, Omlyclo. The company will participate in the World Allergy Congress (WAC 2026) held at the Kyoto International Conference Center from March 15 to 18.

Omlyclo, which received marketing authorization in Japan in March for bronchial asthma, chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU), and seasonal allergic rhinitis, has completed its drug price listing and is ready for launch. During the congress, Celltrion plans to host a dedicated seminar for approximately 400 medical professionals to discuss the clinical value and competitive advantages of the biosimilar.

Celltrion aims to leverage its existing direct sales infrastructure in Japan, which has previously seen success with products like Remsima and Herzuma, to establish a strong position in the allergy sector. The company reported that Omlyclo achieved a 21% market share in Europe as of the first quarter of this year and is looking to accelerate global revenue growth following its recent launch in the United States.
