Brazilian swimmer Celso Luís Santos Ferreira, 17, won the gold medal in the 50m freestyle at the Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championships held in Vancouver, Canada. Ferreira, representing Esporte Clube Pinheiros, completed the race with a time of 22.48 seconds.

In addition to his individual victory, Ferreira earned a bronze medal as part of the Brazilian men's 4x100m medley relay team. The relay squad, which included Davi de Carvalho, Kauã Carvalho, and Alex Amorim, finished with a time of 3:38.97, following gold from Japan and silver from the United States.

The championships, held at the UBC Aquatic Centre, featured over 300 swimmers from 16 different nations. Ferreira's individual gold was the only first-place finish for the Brazilian delegation, which concluded the competition in fourth place overall with a total of two silver and four bronze medals.
