Celta Fortuna makes historic rise to Spain's Segunda División

Celta de Vigo's reserve team, Celta Fortuna, secured promotion to the Segunda División for the first time in the club's history after a 4-1 victory over Ponferradina on 20 June at Balaídos. The win marked the culmination of a standout season for the academy side, which has been lauded as one of Spain's best youth setups. The club announced a celebration event for fans on 21 June, and several players from the promoted squad are expected to be called up for preseason training with the first team.

The promotion places Celta Fortuna alongside Real Sociedad's B team as the only reserve sides currently competing in Spain's second tier, highlighting the growing strength of Galicia's football development program.
