Celtic face defensive concerns ahead of Motherwell match

Celtic manager Martin O’Neill faces selection challenges ahead of the upcoming Premiership fixture against Motherwell. Defender Cameron Carter-Vickers is a doubt for the match due to a strain, having missed recent training sessions. While O’Neill has not ruled him out, the American defender’s availability remains uncertain.

Additionally, winger Yang Hyun-jun is sidelined with a hamstring injury sustained during international duty with South Korea. If Carter-Vickers is unable to play, Dane Murray or Auston Trusty are expected to step into the central defense alongside Liam Scales.

In a separate development, Filipe Jota has been named to the substitutes' bench, marking a potential return to action after an 18-month absence. This comes as O’Neill also addresses previous comments made by Carter-Vickers regarding the team’s tactical approach, defending his management style by citing the club’s successful title-winning campaign last season.
