Celtic face nine rescheduled Premiership fixtures due to Europa League
The SPFL has confirmed nine rescheduled Scottish Premiership fixtures for Celtic due to the club's Europa League commitments and television broadcasting requirements by Sky Sports.
Following Celtic's Europa League schedule, which includes an opening match against Red Star Belgrade on September 24, several league matches have been moved to Sundays to accommodate Thursday night European fixtures. Rescheduled matches include home games against Motherwell, Kilmarnock, Aberdeen, and Falkirk, as well as away trips to Hearts, Hibernian, and Falkirk. Additionally, a visit to Dundee in October has been moved for live Sky Sports coverage.
These changes highlight the ongoing challenge faced by Scotland's top clubs in balancing domestic title ambitions with the physical and mental demands of European competition. The resulting fixture congestion often forces managers to make difficult squad rotation decisions to prevent player burnout and injury during critical periods of the campaign.
