Celtic manager Martin O’Neill highlights physicality and player workload
Celtic manager Martin O’Neill has highlighted physicality as a primary concern for his squad following a 3-0 defeat to Rangers in the Premier Sports Cup quarter-final at Ibrox. O’Neill noted that Rangers appeared physically stronger, particularly in midfield, where Celtic struggled to win duels and regain possession.
O’Neill also addressed the workload of £11m striker Kasper Høgh. The Norwegian forward has faced a punishing schedule, including 17 months of continuous competitive football across his time with Bodø/Glimt, the Danish national team, and Celtic. O’Neill suggested that Celtic must manage Høgh’s workload to prevent fatigue from impacting his performance or increasing his injury risk.
