Celtic manager O'Neill plans strike partnership for new forwards Hogh and Duran

Celtic manager Martin O'Neill said the club’s two summer signings – 25‑year‑old Danish striker Kasper Hogh and Colombian forward Camilo Duran – could form a new strike partnership. O'Neill praised Hogh’s “bubbly” personality and noted that Duran has already scored three goals in three friendlies since arriving from Qarabag.

The manager acknowledged that integrating the pair may require tactical tweaks, mentioning his past use of 3‑5‑2, 4‑4‑2 and other systems at Celtic. He hinted that the duo could play together without major changes, but also left open the possibility of adjusting positions, especially for Duran, who has also operated on the wing. Celtic’s season opener against Dundee on Monday will be the first test for the new forwards.

O'Neill reflected on previous successful strike partnerships at Celtic, such as Henrik Larsson, John Hartson and Chris Sutton, and expressed optimism that Hogh and Duran can add goals and variety to the attacking line‑up.
