Celtic midfielder Mika Baur criticizes team performance after Europa League loss

Celtic midfielder Mika Baur stated that his team “deserved to lose” following a 2-1 defeat to Celta Vigo in the UEFA Europa League at Celtic Park. After Baur gave Celtic an early lead in the second half, the Spanish side responded with two goals in quick succession from Javi Rodriguez to secure the win.

Baur expressed frustration over the team’s inability to maintain control of the match, noting that they became too passive and allowed Celta Vigo to dominate their own half. When asked why the team lost control of the game, Baur replied, “I cannot tell you. I’m sorry. I have no idea.”

The loss marks a difficult period for Celtic, who have now lost four consecutive European matches for the first time since 2017. The club currently sits near the bottom of the league table after three matches.
