Celtic defeat Hibernian 2-1 to maintain Premiership lead

Celtic secured a 2-1 comeback victory against Hibernian at Easter Road, maintaining a four-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership. Despite an early goal from Hibernian’s Owen Elding in the third minute, Celtic responded quickly through a Jason Kerr own goal following a corner from Benjamin Nygren.

Camilo Durán scored the decisive goal in the 43rd minute, marking his tenth goal of the season. The win follows a recent European setback for Celtic and provides a boost for manager Martin O’Neill.

For Hibernian, the defeat marks the third consecutive loss under new manager Marink Reedijk, leaving the club at the bottom of the table. The match was also noted for difficult weather conditions and an injury concern for Celtic’s Alistair Johnston, who was forced off shortly after coming on as a substitute.
