Celtic manager Martin O'Neill outlines transfer strategy as club prepares title defence

Martin O'Neill told Sky Sports that Celtic will prioritize quality over quantity in the summer window. The club has already signed Camilo Duran and Danish forward Kasper Høgh for a combined fee of around £15 million, while talismanic striker Daizen Maeda left for Ipswich Town.

O'Neill also previewed Celtic’s season opener against Dundee and said the squad must improve goal‑scoring. Meanwhile, Premier League side Everton is reported to be preparing a "mega" offer for right‑back Alistair Johnston, who has three years remaining on his contract. Celtic are not under pressure to sell and would only consider a bid that reflects Johnston’s importance to the team.

The manager emphasised that additional signings may follow, but the focus remains on bringing high‑calibre players to help retain the Scottish Premiership title and compete in Champions League qualifiers.
