Celtic appoints Ross Grant as set‑piece coach and targets Hertha keeper Tjark Ernst

Celtic have added Hearts' set‑piece specialist Ross Grant to Martin O’Neill’s backroom team. The club said Grant will focus on set‑piece analysis and coaching, filling the vacancy left by Gavin Strachan. Grant, a lifelong Celtic supporter, previously spent a season at Hearts, four years at Dundee United and holds a UEFA A Licence. O’Neill praised the hire, stating, “I am really pleased to welcome Ross to our backroom staff, I know he is a highly rated coach and look forward to working with him.”

The club is also linked with a bid for Hertha Berlin goalkeeper Tjark Ernst as they look to replace the retired Kasper Schmeichel. Ernst, a 23‑year‑old former Germany U21 international, has attracted interest from Ajax and Wolfsburg, but Celtic are reportedly keen to secure his services alongside other potential signings such as Wolfsberger’s Nikolas Polster.
