CELTIKA Celtic Festival launches inaugural event in Saarland border region

The CELTIKA Celtic Open‑Air Festival opened its first edition on 7–8 August 2026 at the European Cultural Park Bliesbruck‑Reinheim, spanning the French town of Bliesbruck and the German village of Reinheim. Nine bands representing Irish, Scottish, Breton, Welsh and other Celtic traditions performed, ranging from folk and rock to punk.

In addition to music, the festival offers free access to the Prince’s Tomb archaeological site and the special exhibition “Gold im Sand – die Entdeckung des Fürstinnengrabes”, linking the event to the region’s 2,000‑year‑old history. Tickets cost €15 for a day, €25 for a two‑day pass, with reduced rates for youths and free entry for children under twelve. The event is organized jointly by the Département Moselle, the Saarland Ministry of Education and Culture and the Saar‑Pfalz district.

The inaugural CELTIKA aims to establish a cross‑border cultural platform, building on the earlier “Nuits Celtiques” at Malbrouck Castle and highlighting the archaeological sites of Bliesbruck (France) and Reinheim (Germany).
