Cemeteries prepare for Todos Santos festivities
Cemeteries in Tarija and Quetzaltenango are undergoing preparations for the upcoming Todos Santos religious festivities on November 1 and 2.
In Tarija, administrator Ariel Zamora announced coordination with municipal security and public works to ensure cleanliness and safety. Authorities have requested that institutions with private mausoleums assist in cleaning niches, roofs, and hallways. Local workers are already available on-site to assist visitors with repairs and painting.
In Quetzaltenango, administrator Obdulio Morales reported that maintenance work has been underway since the beginning of the year, including vegetation control across 35 avenues and 7 streets. Preparations include the completion of a perimeter wall to create a new access point, coordination with water and electric companies to ensure service during the holiday, and requests for visitors to properly dispose of waste.
