Cemex backs Marina Residences while Casa Brease seeks approval for coastal housing in Baja California Sur

Cemex supplied specialized concrete solutions for the Marina Residences project in the Puerta Cortés resort, La Paz, Baja California Sur. The development includes eight exclusive homes with beach club, golf course and dining amenities. Working with De la Peña Ingenieros Civiles, Cemex provided high‑performance mixes such as Duramax for marine exposure, Architectural Concrete for colored finishes, and Density to reduce weight, adapting production to the region’s high temperatures. Vice‑president Yuri De los Santos highlighted the company’s focus on innovation and durability.

Separately, the Casa Brease project proposes two single‑family homes in the coastal ecosystem of El Sargento, also in La Paz municipality. The environmental impact study notes a total site area of 2,528.924 m² with 244.43 m² of forest clearing, inclusion of two biodigesters for wastewater, and a plan to supply water via trucks and cisterns. Mitigation measures include a vegetation rescue and relocation program covering 463,612 m², addressing concerns over the fragile arid coastal habitat and over‑exploited aquifer.

Both projects illustrate ongoing residential development in Baja California Sur, balancing luxury construction with environmental regulatory scrutiny.
