Cemex road safety program honored by Inter-American Development Bank

The Inter-American Development Bank has recognized Cemex’s road safety practices in its regional study on motorcycle safety in Latin America and the Caribbean. The report notes that Cemex’s program helped achieve a 54% reduction in traffic accidents involving the company over six years.

Cemex President Alejandro Ramírez said health and safety are top priorities and that the program combines technology, training, operational discipline, vehicle inspections, route planning, driver‑behaviour monitoring and blind‑spot reduction technologies. The initiative is operating in Peru, Colombia, Nicaragua, Jamaica, Puerto Rico and Trinidad and Tobago, and is presented as a model for safer mobility across the region.
