Cengiz Enerji powers 2.5 million people with renewable energy in July

Turkey reached a record high for renewable energy production in July, with renewable sources accounting for 58.44% of the total electricity generated. According to data from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEİAŞ), this represents the highest share for the month of July since the company began publishing data on January 1, 2016.

Cengiz Enerji, a subsidiary of Cengiz Holding, contributed 504,829 MWh to this total, representing 2.49% of Turkey's renewable electricity production. This output provided renewable energy to approximately 2.5 million people. The company's CEO, Ahmet Türkoğlu, noted that their hydroelectric plants achieved a five-year production record due to heavy precipitation during the winter months.

Cengiz Enerji maintains a total installed capacity of 5,162 MW, of which 3,171 MW comes from renewable sources. This portfolio includes 2,265 MW of hydroelectric, 129 MW of wind, and 777 MW of solar power. The company stated its intention to increase investments in wind and solar energy to support Turkey's transition to a lower-carbon production structure.
