Cent Browser updates to Chromium 150; Microsoft enhances Edge AI capabilities

Cent Browser has released a new beta version (5.3.1184.2) featuring an upgrade to the Chromium 150 kernel. Notably, the update maintains support for legacy systems and technologies, including Windows 7, Manifest V2 (MV2) extensions, and GDI rendering.

New features in the Cent Browser update include quick URL settings, automatic translation of selected text, the ability to prevent extension updates, and tab switching based on usage order. The update also addresses bugs related to super drag functionality on sites like ChatGPT and screenshot tool window capture.

Separately, Microsoft has introduced developer-focused updates for the Edge browser. These improvements aim to enhance web application performance through new metrics like ‘soft navigation’ and ‘interactive content painting’ to reduce frame drops and white screens in single-page applications.

Microsoft is also advancing AI integration by promoting WebMCP APIs, which allow websites to expose frontend capabilities as structured tools for AI agents to perform complex tasks such as information retrieval and form filling. Additionally, the OpaqueRange API has been introduced to ensure that spell-check and suggestion bubbles remain correctly aligned with text during editing.
