Centar Municipality councilor criticizes parking fee decision

Diana Ristovska Dodevski, a municipal councilor from VMRO-DPMNE in the Centar Municipality, has criticized the ruling coalition of SDS and Levica for rejecting an initiative to reduce parking service prices.

According to Ristovska Dodevski, the refusal to return to previous parking rates maintains high costs for residents. She argued that the implementation of zonal parking forces citizens to pay additional fees even for activities within their own municipality, effectively making them pay 'rent' for sidewalks and streets in front of their own homes.

The councilor accused the current administration of prioritizing revenue collection for political purposes over the needs of the citizens, suggesting that the funds are being gathered to benefit specific interests ahead of upcoming local elections.
