CENTCOM Commander reaffirms U.S. commitment to 15-point Gaza ceasefire plan

CENTCOM Commander Cooper has expressed the United States' commitment to a 15-point ceasefire plan for the Gaza Strip. During a visit to the Civil-Military Coordination Center in Kiryat Gat, Israel, Cooper met with U.S. troops and representatives of multinational forces stationed to oversee the ceasefire.

While the U.S. maintains its commitment to the agreement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has previously stated that his government does not accept the 15-point plan regarding the second stage of the ceasefire. Netanyahu has maintained that the Israeli military will not withdraw from occupied areas in Gaza until Hamas is completely disarmed.

The United Nations has authorized the establishment of an ‘International Stability Force’ for Gaza, though the legal framework and the specific timing of deployment remain uncertain. While Morocco has offered a small contingent, the full composition of the force is still being determined.
