Centenarians in France celebrate 100 years of life
Two women in France have recently celebrated their 100th birthdays, marking a century of diverse life experiences.
Renée-Marie Trichard, originally from the Blayais region, spent much of her life as an active professional and entrepreneur. After working as a typist, she and her husband operated a wool shop that she eventually transitioned into an organic grocery store. Following the loss of her husband and son, and a diagnosis of Alzheimer's, she moved to Idron in the Béarn region to live with her granddaughter. She attributes her longevity to good company, healthy eating, and a penchant for negotiation.
Hélène Caraoué celebrated her centenary in Samatan, Gers, where she was honored by Mayor Alexandre Duval. Born in 1926 on a family farm, she traveled extensively alongside her husband, a career military officer, living in locations such as Brazzaville, Dakar, and New Caledonia. After her husband's death in 2007, she returned to the Gers region to live near her daughter.
