Centenarians in the UK attribute longevity to specific diets

Two individuals in the United Kingdom have celebrated their 107th birthdays, sharing their personal perspectives on longevity.

Dorothy Creighton, a resident of the Pear Tree Court care home in Horndean, attributes her long life to a combination of strong family bonds and a diet including bacon, eggs, and jelly babies. She emphasized the importance of maintaining close relationships and having a supportive family.

In Wales, World War II veteran Owen Filer credits his longevity to a consistent diet of fish and chips, specifically preferring cod or haddock. Filer, who served in the Royal Welsh Regiment and the Military Police, was honored by the SSAFA charity during his birthday celebrations. He noted that while he lived on fish and chips for much of his life, he was careful not to overeat.
