Legal proceedings and fatal accidents reported in Argentina, Mexico, and Spain
Several legal proceedings and fatal accidents have been reported across different regions.
In Centenario, Argentina, Lucas Emanuel Echeverría was found responsible for the death of Agustín Alexis Alvarado and serious injuries to another person. The incident occurred in May 2024 when a homemade trailer, improperly secured to Echeverría’s truck, detached and struck a motorcycle. The court ruled the incident was a result of negligent and non-compliant driving.
In Mexico, José Mauricio Morgado López was detained for involuntary manslaughter after falling asleep at the wheel. His vehicle struck a woman and her child during exercise in Fortín Viejo, resulting in the death of the mother and her pet, while the daughter was hospitalized with serious injuries.
In Spain, a jury trial has commenced regarding the 2019 death of Ana Buza. The case involves conflicting theories: the defense claims the young woman committed suicide by jumping from a moving vehicle, while the family and prosecution argue she was killed by her partner. The prosecution is pursuing charges of involuntary manslaughter, citing excessive speed, while the family seeks a 20-year sentence for intentional homicide.
