Center for Advanced Technologies begins testing first Bosnian-Herzegovinian UAV

The Center for Advanced Technologies (CNT) in Sarajevo has entered a new phase in the development of the CNT-17FW01, the first Bosnian-Herzegovinian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). Following the initial prototype phase, the project is now moving toward systematic testing, optimization, and standardization to achieve industrial maturity.

The CNT-17FW01 features a wingspan of 5.4 meters, a 16 kW motor, and a payload capacity of up to 30 kilograms. It is designed for a flight duration of up to 12 hours and is primarily intended for civilian applications, specifically search and rescue missions.

Ensar Mulaosmanović, Director of the CNT, noted that the project involves the complex integration of mechanics, propulsion, electronics, communications, software, and energy systems. The platform is intended to serve as a foundation for a broader family of autonomous systems. The project is supported by the Sarajevo Canton government, which aims to foster local research and retain scientific talent through initiatives like the ‘Program 150+’.
