Cento: Elderly man found dead in home after several months

An 89-year-old man, Pasquale Iorio, was found dead in his bed in a residence on via Modugno in Cento, Italy. The discovery was made on a Friday morning after a family member, unable to establish contact with him for some time, alerted authorities.

Preliminary findings suggest the death may have occurred several months ago. While investigators have not found evidence of violence and currently consider natural causes the most likely scenario, the Ferrara Prosecutor's Office, led by Ombretta Volta, has opened an investigation to determine the exact cause and timing of death.

The residence has been placed under seizure. Carabinieri are conducting a broad investigation to reconstruct the man's social relations and determine why the death went unnoticed for such an extended period.
