Centocelle school stabbing investigation focuses on student's Telegram messages

Investigators are examining a 13-year-old student's digital communications following a stabbing attack on teacher Isabella Marsilio at the Giovanni Verga school in Centocelle. The student allegedly used pepper spray before attacking the teacher with a knife.

Authorities are analyzing a Telegram message sent by the minor to a group of approximately 22 people about 45 minutes before the assault, which read: ‘Guys, watch the news later’. Investigators are working to determine if the message indicates premeditation or if any adults were involved in instigating the attack.

The teacher was treated at a hospital and has expressed a desire to return to school as soon as possible. The student remains hospitalized in the child neuropsychiatry department of Policlinico Umberto I. The boy's parents have sent an apology email to the teacher.
