Centola receives relic of Saint Carlo Acutis
A relic of Saint Carlo Acutis is being received by the community of Centola in the Cilento region. The “ex corpore” relic was donated to the parish of San Nicola di Bari by the Bishop of Assisi, recognizing the saint's historical connection to the area where he spent summer holidays with his family.
The relic will be housed in a specially commissioned silver reliquary. Religious observances began on October 12, including a gathering at the Piazzetta del Rosario, a location frequently visited by Acutis. On October 13, Bishop Vincenzo Calvosa of Vallo della Lucania will preside over a Eucharistic celebration to officially present the relic to the faithful.
Carlo Acutis, canonized in 2025, is noted for his devotion to the Eucharist and his use of technology for evangelization.
