Central Alberta Economic Partnership strengthens regional mission

Representatives from approximately twelve member municipalities of the Central Alberta Economic Partnership (CAEP) recently met in Innisfail to reaffirm support for the organization’s economic mission. CAEP Executive Director Paul Salvatore noted the goal of positioning Central Alberta as the third-largest economy in the province through improved regional promotion and marketing.

To achieve this, a marketing organization named Team Central Alberta has been established. This entity brings together municipalities, industry partners, and non-profit organizations to coordinate regional sales efforts. This initiative follows a three-year business plan released in May, which aims to build trust, deliver visible wins, create a regional data hub, and work toward financial independence amidst provincial funding reductions.

Additionally, member municipalities expressed support for CAEP to take on a larger advocacy role. This includes backing the Howse Pass route to provide a shorter connection to Golden, British Columbia, and advocating for increased economic development funding.
