Central American athletes prepare for regional sports competitions

Central American regional sports competitions are approaching, featuring both skateboarding and student athletics.

Honduran skateboarder Josué Cortés will represent his country at the IV Central American Skateboarding Championship 2026 in Guatemala City. The event, organized by the National Sports Federation of Skating of Guatemala, will take place on August 29 and 30 at the Parque de la Industria. Competitors from Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama are expected to participate.

In a separate regional event, Costa Rica has finalized its delegation for the XXII Central American Secondary Student Games. Scheduled to be held in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, from September 4 to 13, the Costa Rican delegation includes 326 members, including 232 athletes. These students will compete in 11 disciplines, including athletics, basketball, football, judo, and swimming.
