Central American Bank for Economic Integration expands financial and social footprint

The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE) has successfully placed MXN 2,570 million in the Mexican market. This 3.5-year structured issuance maintains top credit ratings, with Moody’s assigning Aaa.mx and S&P assigning AAA.mx. This marks the bank's 32nd issuance in Mexico, which remains its second most significant market, with historical cumulative amounts exceeding MXN 81,600 million.

In El Salvador, the BCIE is investing US$200 million into the ‘Mi Nueva Escuela’ program. The initiative aims to reconstruct and remodel over 100 educational centers to improve service quality and coverage. The project involves renovating nearly 1,700 classrooms and intervening in more than 37,000 square meters across 10 departments, specifically targeting areas with high poverty levels. The improvements are expected to benefit more than 55,000 students by modernizing recreational areas, study spaces, sanitary services, kitchens, and dining halls.
