Central Asia and Caucasus companies adopt AI twice as fast as global average
A KPMG report indicates that companies in Central Asia and the Caucasus (CAC) are adopting artificial intelligence into production environments at twice the global average rate. According to the survey of over 2,500 technology executives across 27 countries, 53% of regional companies have already implemented industrial-scale AI applications that provide measurable returns, compared to a global average of 24%.
While Konstantin Aushev, KPMG’s Technology Consulting Leader for the region, noted that some respondents might be including smaller-scale examples like text and voice bots in their definition of “production environments,” significant large-scale projects are underway.
In Kazakhstan, Kazakhtelecom is integrating AI into customer service, supply chain, human resources, finance, and regulatory documentation. The company utilizes a platform that allows employees without programming knowledge to create custom AI agents. Additionally, Business & Technology Services (BTS), part of the Eurasian Resources Group (ERG), is employing computer vision to monitor mining equipment and data analysis to process geological reports.
