Central Asian airlines expand international flight frequencies

Major Central Asian carriers Turkmenistan Airlines and Air Astana have announced updates to their international flight schedules, focusing on increased frequencies to several global destinations.

Turkmenistan Airlines will expand its service from Ashgabat starting October 25. Key increases include flights to Kazan, rising from four to six weekly services, and Istanbul, which will move to daily operations. The airline is also adding services to Ho Chi Minh City, Seoul, and Milan. Conversely, weekly flights from Ashgabat to Delhi will be reduced from three to two.

Air Astana is increasing flight frequencies from Almaty to Tbilisi, Bishkek, and Bangkok. Flights to Bishkek will become daily starting August 30, while services to Bangkok will increase to five weekly flights in September before becoming a daily service in November. The airline noted that flights to Dubai remain suspended until September 30 due to instability in the Persian Gulf region.
