Central Asian Nations Boost Trade and Logistics Ties

Representatives from Uzbekistan and Turkey met at the İskenderun Chamber of Commerce and Industry to discuss expanding logistics cooperation. Trade between the two countries grew 43.8% over five years, reaching $3.02 billion in 2025, with Turkish investment in Uzbekistan at $3.2 billion and about 2,000 joint ventures operating in sectors such as construction, logistics, textiles and manufacturing. The forum highlighted the need for efficient transport routes to help landlocked Uzbekistan access global markets and to position Turkey as a transit hub for Central Asian goods.

In a separate event, business leaders from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan gathered in Astana for a bilateral forum on 24 June 2026. The meeting, organized with support from Kazakhstan’s Chamber of International Commerce and the QazTrade Center, featured B2B sessions covering transport and logistics, construction, agriculture, food, textiles and chemicals. Participants explored joint projects, distribution networks and direct commercial agreements aimed at deepening economic cooperation between the two neighbours.
