Central Bank of Dominican Republic Governor meets with MasterCard executives

Héctor Valdez Albizu, Governor of the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic, met with a delegation of international executives from MasterCard, led by Andrea Scerch, President for Latin America and the Caribbean. The meeting focused on advancements in payment systems and the implementation of the National Financial Inclusion Strategy.

Valdez Albizu emphasized that promoting electronic payments and financial inclusion are public policy priorities. He noted that the Central Bank is working to launch a technological platform for a modern instant payment management system that will operate 24/7. Additionally, the Governor highlighted the need for proactive measures against fraud and cybercrime, urging financial entities to implement robust security standards to protect users.
