Central Bohemian hydrogen bus project to launch in October

A pilot project involving hydrogen-powered buses in the Central Bohemian Region is expected to begin operations in mid-October. The initiative, valued at approximately 155 million CZK, will deploy a new fleet near Mníšek pod Brdy.

The project is a collaboration between the Central Bohemian Region, carrier Martin Uher Bus, and the energy company ČEZ, which is responsible for installing the hydrogen refueling station. While the project faced several delays due to manufacturer issues with technological containers, the system is now fully assembled and undergoing necessary legislative testing and pressure checks.

According to ČEZ spokesperson Martin Schreier, delays in hydrogen technology pilot projects are currently common across Europe, citing tight supplier schedules and the non-serial production of many components.
