Central Bohemian Intervention Unit celebrates 35 years of service

The Central Bohemian Intervention Unit is celebrating its 35th anniversary. Established in 1991 in response to rising organized and violent crime, the unit has completed over 10,000 deployments and assisted in the apprehension of more than 5,000 suspects.

During a commemorative event held at the Regional Police Directorate in Prague, officers demonstrated their equipment, gear, and tactical procedures, including self-defense techniques and responses to dangerous suspects. The unit comprises various specialists, including negotiators, divers, snipers, pyrotechnicians, high-altitude specialists, and medics. Their mandate includes responding to serious criminal offenses, high-risk arrests, terrorism, kidnappings, and public order disturbances.
