Central Bohemian Region Launches New Road Closure Portal
The Central Bohemian Road Administration (KSÚS) has started a test run of a new web portal that lists completed, ongoing and planned road works on regional highways. The portal shows planned closures months in advance, providing dates and expected restrictions to help drivers, commuters and public‑transport operators plan routes.
The system is intended to improve coordination among municipalities, investors and road managers, reducing overlapping closures and minimizing impact on traffic. Data will be entered by KSÚS road engineers and project managers, and the portal will later support public‑transport planners such as IDSK and ROPID. A separate Geoportal will host road‑surface defect reports.
KSÚS spokesperson Petra Kučerová said full operation is expected by the end of September or early October. Director Aleš Čermák and regional councilor for road transport Josef Pátek highlighted the portal as a step toward more transparent communication with the public and more efficient cooperation among all institutions involved in road construction.
