Central Chile faces rain and thunderstorms this Monday
A high-altitude trough is expected to bring atmospheric instability to central Chile on Monday, October 26, triggering rain, potential hail, and electrical storms. The meteorological phenomenon will affect several regions, including Valparaíso, Metropolitana, O'Higgins, Maule, Ñuble, and Biobío, with particular intensity in valley, precordillera, and cordillera sectors.
In the Biobío region, temperatures are projected to reach up to 25 °C during the showers. Other areas, such as Hualqui, Los Angeles, and Santa Juana, may also see highs near this level. In the central zone, rainfall estimates include approximately 8 mm for Santiago and Los Andes, 10 mm for Rancagua, and up to 14 mm for Curicó.
Weather conditions are expected to improve progressively starting Tuesday, leading to clearer skies and warmer temperatures by Wednesday, with some cities potentially reaching 27 °C.
