Central Connecticut State Tournament volleyball season opens

The Central Connecticut State Tournament commenced with several closely contested volleyball matches at Detrick Gymnasium in New Britain, Connecticut.

Central Connecticut State defeated Holy Cross in a five-set match with scores of 21-25, 15-25, 25-18, 30-28, and 11-15. Despite rallying from a two-set deficit, the Holy Cross Crusaders fell to 0-1 for the season.

In another match, Rhode Island defeated Siena University 3-2. The set scores were 25-21, 16-25, 22-25, 25-23, and 15-11. Although Siena led two sets to one and held statistical advantages in kills and assists, they were unable to secure the victory, moving to a 0-1 record.
